The Whirlpool 4396508 cartridges, or 461951401681 if you go by the European serial numbers, are designed to fit into the base grille of Whirlpool fridges - i.e. beneath the front doors at the base of the fridge. The cartridges are also seen on some Smeg models of fridge in the UK, and the exact same cartridge has been recently branded as 'Cassinetta' by Maytag for some Maytag branded models. Simply put though, if you have a fridge with a cartridge which fits in the base grille BENEATH THE DOORS, then this wil definitely fit, regardless of manufacturer.
The cartridge is designed to remove chlorine, dissolved organics and sediment, improving the aesthetic quality of the water for drinking.

Cartridge life is 6 months or 2500 litres, whichever comes first. All customers will receive a free, no obligation postal reminder around the time the cartridge is due for replacment (these will tie in roughly with your fridge renewal light).
