The GE MWF cartridge superceeded the popular GWF a couple of years ago - basically if you have a GE Fridge which has a cartridge fitting -inside- the fridge compartment itself, then it will be this series of cartridge i.e. our compatible will definitely fit.
GE Appliances are a huge brand in the States, however, the UK market is predominantly based around the Korean brands such as Samsung and Daewoo, meaning GE Refrigerators tend to carry a fair price premium and the accessories tend to follow similar lines. Presently, the MWF is one of our most expensive original cartridges, and customer demand has lead to us sourcing this alternative as a more economical option.
Like with most internal fridge filters the technology is relatively simple in terms of filtration performance, basically removing chlorine, sediment, dissolved organics and thier associated by-products via sintered carbon block technology. Both the original cartridge and this compatible work on the same principle, offering the same level of filtration performance.
With any internally fitting compatible the real test of the engineering is the moulding, ensuring the components are reliably built and that the product will fit into the fridge as easily as the original. We've explored a few options with compatibles, but the quality of this particular variant has been by far the most impressive and our testing has lead us to the conclusion that in terms of value for money you will not find a better solution.
Cartridge life is 6 months or 2500 litres, whichever comes first. All customers will receive a free, no obligation postal reminder around the time the cartridge is due for replacment (these will tie in roughly with your fridge renewal light).
