The UKF9001AXX, also known as the Puriclean III is the latest cartridge for all Amana and Admiral fridges which have horizontal mounting cartridges - usually held in an enclosure which opens like a crocodiles mouth as you look at it, in the top right of the refrigerator compartment itself (i.e. you have to open the fridge door to get to it).
The Puriclean III filter will replace the UKF8001AXX cartridge which is now out of production, offering enhanced filtration performance against MTBE (a derivitive of petroleum waste) as well as improving the general tase and odour of the water by removing Chlorine and dissolved organics as per the older model.
Cartridge life is 6 months or 2500 litres, whichever comes first. All customers will receive a free, no obligation postal reminder around the time the cartridge is due for replacment (these will tie in roughly with your fridge renewal light).
