The GE Smartwater MWF series cartridge will replace all GE cartridges which fit 'inside' the refrigerator compartment (i.e. you have to open the door to fit it). If your GE cartridge is marked GWF or MWF then this cartridge is the current manufacturers original part intended to replaced your filter. Please note we now have a compatible cartridge also available for this product which can be viewed by clicking the GE section above.
The GE MWF cartridge is a block carbon cartridge designed to remove chlorine, sediment and dissolved organics, improving the aesthetic properties of the water. It fits via a simple push up and twist method and is noticeable different from most other filters in that the top of the filter is a female type fitting rather than a male type. This cartridge will also fit some Hotpoint refrigerators that use cartridges modelled 'HWF'.
The original GE cartridges are expensive, however, we have some of the keenest priced original filters in the UK you will find combined with excellent value compatibles which offer further reductions of about 20%.
Cartridge life is 6 months or 2500 litres, whichever comes first. All customers will receive a free, no obligation postal reminder around the time the cartridge is due for replacment (these will tie in roughly with your fridge renewal light).
